Nicholas Goodman – Bio
director, producer, writer, editor
Most recently I directed and produced “Eve,” a music video for the song by recording artist Rebecca Jordan (composer, Kelly Clarkson’s Beautiful Disaster). The video premiered on American Songwriter and had a promotional tie-in and contest on Milani Cosmetics Beauty Blog. As a filmmaker, the film Stigmata .44 won the Audience Award at the Uppsala International Short Film Festival, and aired on KTTW (Chicago), KQED (San Francisco), and KPBS (San Diego). My short mash up of the indie hits “Swingers” and “Sling Blade,” called Swing Blade, became a cult smash, getting positive notice from the Los Angeles Times, TV Guide, Movieline, and People Magazine, and aired on Bravo, Encore Movies, and Britain’s Film 4. It was released by Rhino Films theatrically as a short attraction before the comedy Plump Fiction, and by Miramax Films on the Swingers Collector’s Edition DVD (now on Blu Ray). This attention led to development deals at Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment. I have been a film festival judge for Red Rock Film Festival and MethodFest, and currently produce and edit the Cecil B. De Mille Lifetime Achievement Award for the Golden Globe Awards on NBC for Dick Clark Productions. And if you ever wondered who edited those trailers for films such as Jack Reacher, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, Sweeney Todd, Minority Report, and Sin City, to name a few, that was me, too. My latest feature, Canine Instinct, has screened in festivals worldwide, recently winning Best Feature Documentary at the Burbank International Film Festival.
